Grow Box | Empty

This empty grow box is the building block for small-batch substrate cultivation. The lid features an integrated micron filter, which allows the gas exchange (CO₂ out, fresh air in) that growing mycelium needs — without letting airborne contaminants in.

Available sizes

• 280 ml — single PF Tek cake, small substrate batch
• 565 ml — medium cake, ideal starter size
• 1000 ml — standard volume for substrate cakes
• 2000 ml — larger batches and bulk substrate prep

How to use it

1. Fill the box with your prepared substrate (e.g. vermiculite + brown rice flour for PF Tek).
2. Place the filter lid on top.
3. Sterilize in a pressure cooker or autoclave.
4. Let cool, then inoculate via the lid (or alongside, depending on your method).
5. Incubate at room temperature. The micron filter handles gas exchange during colonization.

Reusable

The box and lid are reusable. After each cycle, clean thoroughly and re-sterilize for the next batch.
